I would recommend everyone to NEVER fly COPA airlines. I was scheduled to fly home from Quito to Los Angeles on August 1st, when I went to check in to my flight they had canceled my seat. When I asked to speak to a customer service I was told by the person at the ticket counter "No" with no explanation of why. He then told me to even show proof that I even had a ticket and I told him to look it up on his computer, which he said he wouldn't. I was flying with my family and all their tickets were fine for some reason and at this point my mom was very upset and crying, but they ignored her. I asked if I could at least buy another ticket, in which they told me that the flight was sold out. When I talked to my parents the next day they said there were nearly 30 seats left on the plane. He told me I would have to go talk to their office in the airport, when I got there I saw the office was closed on the weekend, it was Saturday. I was stranded in Quito with no flight home and no place to stay. Once I did get home I tried calling COPA and they told me I had to everything by e-mail, after multiple e-mails I got no response. I tried filling out their complaint form and was told to wait 25 days, I did and still got no response. I called again and was given another e-mail address that didn't even work. COPA might be slightly cheaper but NEVER EVER FLY COPA AIRLINES unless you like the idea of being stranded or wasting money.
