Do not rent a vacation home with vacationhomes.com/Internet Brands,inc.
This Company is doing unfair business practices. I lost over $2500 with this Company as I went on their website looking for a vacation apartment in New York City, I received several quotes from "different owners". On 7-15-11, I completed a contract and send it to the "owner", he requested a deposit to be wired at a Bank of America account in New York, when I arrived at the location of the apartment I was told that they did not know the persons in the contract.
I realized that I was scammed, with 4 children in the streets of Manhattan and nowhere to sleep. This caused a great deal of stress, and a great deal of money was spent to find a hotel at the last minute. I went to the other locations that I also received quotes, and found that those apartments were also a scam, nobody knew the "owners". I reported it to Internet Brands, and I was told that they were going to take property off their website, but on 08-2-11 same property and same "Owner" were advertising in the website under a different number. I also found out that same owner scammed a family with an apartment in Florida in March ,2011, so Internet Brands has known all along that their website is the bait for illegal activities and they have done nothing to monitor their site, On the contrary they continue advertising properties that are fraud because they are profiting. Therefore, they are aiding and abating criminals.
