I have moved over 15 times in my life and this is probably the worst experience I've had. I'm not saying that it was completely horrible, but about 80% bad. Where to start?
Let's start with the good. The movers were very friendly and helpful. Ok... That's it for the good.
As users here have said, the estimate will be nowhere near the final price you pay. I was extremely accurate in my details of what I had to move because I knew the price was based on this. At every step they raised the price, AND, on delivery date, they would only take CASH, not a credit card, money order, etc. Could it be because they know that people would cancel the payment once they started looking through their items?
Pick up and delivery were both an issue. They push hard to make you take a weekday. Even though I told them way in advance of the day I needed to move, they called beforehand and wanted to move it to the day before. The movers were suppose to arrive during a set time period (that they gave me) but showed up 2 hours early and with only 15 minutes notice (was suppose to be at least an hours notice). They tried to do the same thing with delivery.
When I received my items from Ohio to Florida every box looked like it had been placed with 500 lbs. on top of it and sat in the rain. Everything that they had put moving blankets on now had lint/felt stuck to the furniture and wood because of the damp environment that it must have been sitting in. AND, figures, my only real valuable, my 55" flat screen tv didn't work when I unpacked it!
Had to pay the $200 extra month storage fee. For what? It could NOT have been in a climate controlled environment and what storage costs $200 a month? (especially for a 2 BR apt.).
I wish I had done more research on this company before picking them. Better Business Bureau has them rated as D+. That says it all!
