Please do not waste your time or money joining this organization. The staff is extremely rude, snide, ignorant, and above all UNPROFESSIONAL.

I contacted these people over a year ago and advised them that I find their organization to be worthless and a waste of money. I told them that I did not want any further marketing material from them. Here it is a year later and they are still sending me mailers (two a week) and emails trying to get me to sign up again.

Called and spoke to Cathy today. RUDE and ignorant, to say the least. Reiterated that I want them to leave me alone and stop sending me any material. She copped an attitude and got smart with me. I told her that they will never get another dime from me and that if they persist in sending me their junk mail I'm going to escalate the issue and complain to the post office and AG's office, if necessary. She nastily told me to do whatever I want to do. I told her that I will and hung.

I had been a member with this organization for over five years and the above situation is par for the course. They have been rude, nasty, combative, and unprofessional across the board. I do not support low-grade companies like this with my money.

A few years ago I contacted their notary question line for info on a difficult notarization. I was given wrong information. I knew the information was wrong and advised their customer service rep that the information he was giving me was wrong for my state. He became indignant and insisted that he was correct. He too was very rude. These people have an attitude for no reason at all and truly believe they can speak to people in a condescending and hostile tone. I ended up contacting the Secretary of State in my state and they confirmed that the NNA person was wrong and gave me the correct information. From then on I have never called the NNA information line for anything.

Do not trust these people. People think notarizing documents is all about putting a stamp on paper. However, there are complicated situations that are not cut and dry at times. Make sure that you contact someone in your state's notary office (usually the Secretary of State) for help. Do not trust the National Notary Association. These people do not know what they are talking about. They really only exist to collect dues. That's all they care about.

I've ordered supplies from them and not have them shipped until two weeks later. When you call to inquire they get nasty with you. They constantly interfere and interject themselves into notary affairs nationwide, all aimed at getting states to create mandates that drive business to THEM. They want to be seen as an authority in notarial affairs. They are not.

They do nothing to support notaries. They only want your dues. Do your own due diligence. You don't have to take my word for it. Search the Internet for comments on the NNA and I guarantee you'll find 99% negative comments about them.

There are many professional and reputable notary associations out there. The National Notary Association is not one of them.
