I wrote a review but I guess it didnt post. So here is the short version.

6/26/2008- Bought Maunakea 7 piece living room set at the San Diego County Fair for $1,934.11 and was told that the order was refundable. I had to paid the order in full and that I would not get my order until August or September because it still was not made and was being shipped from the Philippines via water cargo. I called many times to ask the status of order and was told that it hadnt arrived and left messages along with my Cell number to Carrie regarding the upholstery design which I was supposed to chose from a special list. I never got a call back.

8/08 - Called to inquire about order, was told that it was still on water on the way here.

9/08- Called again to inquire about oder. Got the same answer as above.

9/12/08- Got fed up with the waiting and the customer service run around so I called to cancell the order and get a refund. I did not trust this company anymore and thought that it was a scam. No one would return my messages, each time I called, Carrie was rather impatient with my explaining and would always tell me that either the accountant or Luie would call me back, but never did. When I called on 9/12/08 I was told by Mike that my refund would post in 10 -15 working days. I waited over a month and still no refund.

10/20/08 - I called and asked to speak to Luie, he wasnt there so I spoke to Carrie again, and was told that Luie was the only one that could authorize the refund and the he wouldn't be in the office until 11/01/08 but that she had spoken to him and told him my situation. 11/1/08 came and went and no call from Luie and no refund posted.

11/13/08 - Called AGAIN and asked to speak to Luie,he wasn't there so I spoke to Carrie AGAIN, by now she knows who I am and tells me that I am in a stack of refunds and that she is going to move mine to the top and put a big sign on it for Luie to see when he gets back in the office because he isnt in right now.

That is where we stand 6 months later and still no call about my order arriving or no call about my refund. I do not want the funiture anymore I want my money andi have no clue as to how I am going to get that back unless I go up there personally and complain. Hermosa Beach is 100 plus miles from San Diego.

Do not pay your order in full unless you can take it home with you that day. The way that Carrie handles customer complaints isn't very nice. You can hear it in her voice that she is hurried and wants to get you off the phone. It's like pulling teeth in order for her to give you a clear answer and you cant ever talk to anyone aside from her. The accountant and Luie are never in and they cant give you a time in which you can call and speak to either of them. I went into this in good faith, Luie seemed sincere, but I dont recommend him to anyone. At the fair there where some "clients" who had bought from him before and gave me really good feedback on him and his products. Im not so sure that it wasnt staged or not.
