I purchased a 2012 Mustang from Galpin Ford over 3 months ago and after the purchase, not only did I not get a proper vehicle delivery, I also never heard back from my Sales Rep with the important information I needed for my insurance. Fine, I got over it. Thought, he was just one of those sales rep's who is only available before and during the sale.

6:50 am this morning, on my way to work, while driving on a winding road, my steering wheel locked and I was unable to safely navigate to the side. Luckily, all of the cars behind me were able to navigate away from me and didn't get into an accident.

7:00 am I called Galpin Ford as soon as I parked my car and I was advised that I needed to drive my vehicle in to get checked. I reiterated to the person I was talking to that my steering wheel locked and I'm unable to drive the vehicle. They called roadside assistance for me and advised me that I wasn't eligible for a free rental because I did not purchase the Extended Warranty. I didn't have time to argue with the lady so, I waited for the towing company and they arrived w/in 15 minutes.

8:00 am, I still haven't heard back from Galpin to even confirm that they checked my car in or give me a slight update on my vehicle so, I called the Service Department and left a message.

8:30 am, I called again to see what's going on with my vehicle and I was advised they were going to check and see what's going on and call me back. I asked to be transferred to my Sales Rep and he advised me he was going to look into it when he gets in the office w/in an hour and get this resolved.

10:00 am, I called my Sales Rep again and he told me, "I just got in! I'll call back."

11:00 am, I still haven't heard from anyone and when I called the service department, I was advised THEY NEVER RECEIVED MY VEHICLE!!!! I called the towing company and they advised me that it's been checked in at 7:30 am.

I left a message for the Service Manager at this point and about 11:45 am, I got a call back from a Service Adviser who advised me they do have my car and it was just overlooked, they will get me a free rental and that they would have a shuttle pick me up to get me a rental.

4:30 pm, I get a call from my Service Adviser to let me know that my brand new 2012 Ford Mustang has a rare, one of a kind electronic defect where they need to replace the power steering computer. In addition, they ordered the part, it's not a big deal, it won't happen again and I don't have anything to worry about.

2 Things..
First off, the reason why I bought a new car is to ensure I don't have these kind of problems. 2nd, this is a brand new car and why exactly did the power steering computer completely shut down while the vehicle is still moving? Having these problems doesn't give me any comfort after they replace the computer part that completely shut down.
