Review 4/29/2011

I placed an order on March 10th, 2011 for roughly $350 worth of products. 6 days later I was contacted telling me that they were unable to process my order due to an address match. Though I can understand this, the 6 day delay seemed extensive. Needless to say, I followed through with the order even with the delay. Now, about 3 weeks after the order, I find out that one of the items I purchased was sent in the wrong size. The product, Roots Excelurator in a 500ml size, is a very expensive product at $113.95. The product they sent however is the 250ml size, priced at $68.95. So they got me for just under $50. The worst part is, the label does not clearly identify the product size so it is very difficult for the consumer to know what they are getting in terms of product volume. This was the first time I have ever purchased the product. If it wasn't for a good friend of ours who uses the product all the time informing us that the size can was indeed the 250ml I would never have known. Sure enough, a trip to the garden center removed all doubt, they did indeed send me the wrong product. Attempts to contact the retailer have been met with either a message stating they are closed, a store attendant informing me that customer service is located in a different facility and they are closed, or a vm system that, regardless of the message left, never resulted in a call back. Buyer beware. For the record, my order was placed on bghydro.com and my review is for the website portion of the business only, I have no experience with their retail stores. I plan on filing a charge back for the amount I was over charged our credit card company.
